Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 15, 2025

At RebootGrowthX, we know your data matters. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. We operate in Taiwan and follow local privacy regulations, but we've written this in plain English so you actually know what's happening with your information.

1. Information We Collect

Account and Registration Data

When you sign up for our courses or create an account, we ask for your name, email address, and phone number. Sometimes we need your billing address if you're purchasing a course. That's about it for the basics.

Learning Activity Information

We track how you interact with our educational materials. This includes which courses you've enrolled in, your progress through modules, quiz scores, and completion rates. We use this to help you pick up where you left off and to improve our teaching methods.

We also collect technical data like your IP address, browser type, device information, and access times. This helps us keep the platform running smoothly and catch any security issues early.

Communications

If you email us or use our contact forms, we keep those messages. We might also save chat transcripts if you use our support system. We need these records to help you properly and to track ongoing issues.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide access to course materials and track your learning progress
  • To send you important updates about courses you're enrolled in or platform changes
  • To process payments and maintain billing records
  • To respond to your questions and provide technical support
  • To improve our teaching methods based on how students interact with content
  • To prevent fraud and maintain platform security
  • To comply with Taiwan's legal requirements for educational service providers

We don't sell your data to third parties. Period. That's not our business model and never will be.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Under Taiwan's Personal Data Protection Act, we process your information based on:

  • Contract Performance: We need your data to deliver the educational services you've signed up for
  • Legitimate Interests: Processing helps us improve our platform and prevent misuse
  • Legal Compliance: Taiwan law requires us to maintain certain records
  • Your Consent: For marketing communications, we'll always ask first

4. Data Sharing and Third Parties

We work with a few service providers to keep things running:

Service Type Purpose Data Shared
Payment Processors Handle course purchases Billing information, transaction details
Email Services Send course updates and notifications Email address, name, course enrollment data
Cloud Hosting Store course content and user data All account and learning data
Analytics Tools Understand platform usage patterns Anonymized usage statistics

All these providers are bound by confidentiality agreements. They can only use your data for the specific services they provide to us.

We might share data if required by Taiwan courts or government authorities, but we'll notify you unless legally prevented from doing so.

5. Your Rights

Taiwan's data protection laws give you several rights. Here's what you can do and how to actually do it:

Access Your Data

You can request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. Email us at [email protected] with "Data Access Request" in the subject line. We'll send you a complete file within 15 business days.

Correct Inaccurate Information

Found a mistake in your account details? Log into your account settings to fix most information yourself. For things you can't change directly, contact our support team.

Delete Your Account

You can request full account deletion at any time. We'll remove all your personal data within 30 days, except for records we're legally required to keep (like transaction history for tax purposes). These legal records are stored securely and separately from active systems.

Object to Processing

Don't want us to use your data for a particular purpose? Let us know. While we need certain data to provide basic services, you can opt out of marketing communications and some analytics tracking.

Data Portability

Want to take your data to another platform? We'll provide your information in a common, machine-readable format. Just ask.

6. Data Security

We take security seriously, but we won't bore you with technical jargon. Here's what matters:

  • All data transmissions use industry-standard encryption
  • Our databases are protected with multiple security layers
  • Employee access to personal data is strictly limited and monitored
  • We conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Our servers are located in secure facilities with physical access controls
  • We maintain backup systems to prevent data loss

No system is completely bulletproof, though. If we experience a data breach that affects your information, we'll notify you within 72 hours and explain what happened and what we're doing about it.

7. Data Retention

We don't keep your data forever. Here's our retention schedule:

  • Active Accounts: We keep your data as long as your account is active
  • Closed Accounts: Most data is deleted within 30 days of account closure
  • Financial Records: Kept for 7 years as required by Taiwan tax law
  • Course Completion Records: Maintained for 3 years to verify certificates
  • Support Communications: Deleted after 2 years unless part of an ongoing issue

After these periods, data is permanently deleted from our systems and backups.

8. Cookies and Tracking

Our website uses cookies. Most are essential for the platform to work properly. Things like keeping you logged in and remembering your course progress.

We also use analytics cookies to understand how people use the site. These help us figure out which features work well and which need improvement. You can disable these in your browser settings without affecting your ability to access courses.

We don't use advertising cookies or allow third-party ad networks to track you on our site.

9. International Data Transfers

Our servers are primarily located in Taiwan, but some of our service providers operate globally. When your data leaves Taiwan, we ensure it's protected by:

  • Standard contractual clauses approved by Taiwan authorities
  • Selecting providers in countries with adequate data protection laws
  • Additional security measures for sensitive information

If you have concerns about international transfers, contact us. We can provide more details about where your specific data is stored and processed.

10. Children's Privacy

Our courses are designed for adults and working professionals. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 years old. If you're a parent and discover your child has created an account, let us know immediately and we'll delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We update this policy occasionally to reflect new practices or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we'll email active users at least 30 days before the changes take effect. You'll also see a notice when you log in.

Minor updates like clarifying existing practices won't trigger notifications, but we'll always update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

12. Complaints and Disputes

If you think we've mishandled your data, please tell us first. Most issues can be resolved directly. Contact our privacy team at [email protected] with "Privacy Concern" in the subject line.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you have the right to file a complaint with Taiwan's National Development Council, which oversees data protection enforcement. They're located at No. 6, Section 1, Zhongxiao East Road, Taipei City.
